Sebastiano Esposito believes young people can make a difference in the fight against racism after his Inter teammate Romelu Lukaku was racially abused recently.
“We young people can reverse this. We have a duty to try it. Sometimes the fans do things without realising it but they can not imagine the damage that they can have on a footballer’s mental state,” the youngster told Corriere dello Sport.
“I was on the bench on Sunday and I think Lukaku played great. He responded to the racists by scoring and demonstrated who was right and who was wrong.”
Esposito then spoke on being able to train with the first team.
“It is an honour to train with the first team, even if I still have to think about the Primavera. During the summer I travelled around the world wearing the Inter shirt and I can’t wait to make my debut in the league.
“I feel the trust around me, they believe in me. Conte is a fantastic person, I am establishing a good relationship with him. The coach has the ability to transport you to his world of pure adrenaline.”
He concluded by saying what his two current dreams are in football.
“I have always been someone who dreams and I have two at the moment. My first is to debut in Serie A with Inter and the second is to win the under 17 World Cup.”
