Over 60,000 tickets have already been snapped up by eager Inter and Milan fans for the upcoming first Derby della Madonnina of the season according to a report from Milan based news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

Milan will be the hosts of the first derby but will not be able to sell the game out. This because of safety concerns in the third tier of both Milan’s Curva Sud and Inter’s Curva Nord.

Approximately 2400 seats will be unavailable and covered by tarpaulin. This decision has been taken due to concerns relating to the vibrations created by all of the extra bodies.

For most of Milan and Inter’s matches, the third tier is left closed and only ever opened for smaller travelling supports ranging between 500-2000 people.

It remains to be seen how long the tarpaulin will remain in place for and if the clubs will take any measures to correct the issue.
