Former Inter defender Nicolas Burdisso has shared his excitement following Alexis Sanchez’s recent transfer to the club.
The Chilean attacker has joined the Nerazzurri on a season long loan from Premier League giants Manchester United and could make his first appearance in Inter’s next match against Udinese, their first back after the international break.
“He knows Italian football and I think that it was a smart decision for him to return to Italy. Alexis’ name is known in Italy,” the Argentine, who is currently the sporting director at Boca Juniors, said in an interview with Radio Agricultura.
Burdisso, who spent five years on Inter’s books between 2004 and 2009, then shared his views on why he thinks 30-year-old Sanchez has returned.
“All players have their ups and downs and need to adapt to every situation. I think he has decided to return to Italy because he wants to feel how he has done in the past.”
