Steven Zhang has been the Inter president for almost a year and some of his early decisions in the position are already beginning to bear fruit in the eyes of Corriere dello Sport.

Zhang took the decision to remove manager Luciano Spalletti from his position as manager and replace him with Antonio Conte all of which came at a great cost.

Inter’s early season form however has shown that it was the right decision with Inter picking up maximum points in league action so far.

Inter spent big in the recent Summer transfer window and spent approximately €180 million. Not even in the days of Marcello Lippi being charge in the late 90s did Inter have so much money available to improve the team.

The club’s annual financial turnover has improved significantly too. In the 2018/19 season Inter’s turnover was no less than €400 million, a huge difference from the -€140 million turnover the club had back in 2014/15.

The club have moved into new headquarters in the financial district of the city and continue to plan for a new stadium to replace San Siro.

On the pitch for the remainder of the season, Zhang wants the team to be more competitive both domestically and continentally with him wanting to see the club progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
