Valentino Lazaro, Inter’s new 23-year-old Austrian international wingback, was instrumental in Austria’s 6-0 victory over Latvia last night.

The player spoke about the upcoming challenge against Poland and discussed its importance for qualification to next summer’s tournament with Austrian media outlet Sn.at.

“Our philosophy is to dominate with the ball, and we also want to do it against the Poles. We have some great qualities and we’ve become even more confident in front of goal; we hope to bring home the victory.”

“We’re in an excellent position in the standings, but obviously there’s still a long way to go before we qualify. If I had the chance to play two games in a row, it would be a very good thing for me.”

Lazaro signed for the Nerazzurri this summer from Bundesliga side Hertha BSC, where he scored 5 goals and assisted 13 in 65 appearances for the German side.

The player hasn’t yet made his debut for Inter, but he will be hoping it will come soon.
