Ex-Inter Defender Marco Materazzi Pays Tribute To Samuel Eto’o Following Retirement Announcement

Former Inter defender Marco Materazzi payed tribute to Samuel Eto’o on his official Instagram account after the Cameroonian striker announced his retirement yesterday.

Materazzi said: “Congratulations on your great and successful career! Good luck for your future.”

He then added a statement that Eto’o said about him: “If I arrived at Inter because of a message from Materazzi? Yes, it’s true, and I take the opportunity to thank Marco, because even if I didn’t know him when I was in Cameroon, I received a message signed by Marco Materazzi.”

“We didn’t know each other. I called Albertini, I played with him at Barcelona, I said ‘I got a message from a person called Materazzi, can you check that it’s him?’. Five minutes later I got confirmation. If I played for Inter it was thanks to Marco Materazzi. Thank you brother!!!”
