Manchester City are preparing to make a huge offer for Inter’s Slovakian international defender Milan Skriniar in January, British tabloid the Daily Express reports.

The Premier League champions are currently going through a small injury crisis in defence, with both John Stones and Aymeric Laporte out of action due to injuries.

This leaves coach Pep Guardiola in a position where he must look for a new defender in January if he wants to win the Champions League this season.

Guardiola has specifically requested Milan Skriniar but the Nerazzurri are not keen to lose the 24-year-old Slovakian defender, but if the club fails to qualify for the round of 16 in the Champions League then a deal may materialize, according to the report.

Inter would only accept a high offer from Manchester City, with the defender being contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023 after signing a new contract in May of this year and being considered crucial to Antonio Conte’s project with the club.
