Napoli striker Dries Mertens spoke on the title race this season between Juventus, Inter and Napoli, as reported by Rome based paper the Corriere dello Sport.
“On paper Juventus still has the strongest team. We’re aiming for the Scudetto and we want to do something important, fight and play well. It went badly against Juve, but it’s the start of the season and we have to look ahead and beat Sampdoria”.
Napoli has gotten off to a slower start to the season compared to their rivals, with both Juventus and Inter winning both of their opening games to keep a perfect record. The Neapolitan side are currently three points behind both the Bianconeri and the Nerazzurri.
Inter face a tough month ahead with games against Milan, Lazio and Sampdoria all shaping up to be important in the race for the title.
Antonio Conte has been preparing for these games and hopes to field a full strength Inter against Udinese next weekend.
