Inter hope to tie Lautaro Martinez down to a new and improved contract in the not too distant future according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The Argentine striker is under contract with the club until 2023 already but Inter wish to extend his contract to 2024 and could do so around the middle of next month.

The renewal will see him get a significant increase on his current €1.5 million annual pay packet with the report stating Inter will near double his wages to €2.7 million a year.

22-year-old Martinez also has a €111 million release in his current contract with the club and it is understood that Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta wishes to get rid of the clause to give Inter maximum bargaining power if clubs are to come in for him in the years to come.

This season Martinez has made two appearances across all competitions for Inter in which he has contributed one goal.
