Inter full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio was interviewed by the Nerazzurri for their matchday programme ahead of tonight’s game against Udinese, with the 31-year-old talking positively about long season ahead.

“I always aim to get out of the field knowing I did my job right. When you’re in such a big club you always have to prove that you deserve it”

D’Ambrosio spoke about his two saves last season to stop Inter conceding.

“Against Milan I had to defend the goal, the objective was to stop that ball with every part of my body; against Empoli I felt that somehow I would have saved it, then the crossbar helped me.”

Then, the full-back spoke of his boyhood connections to the Nerazzurri.

“My neighbour was an Interisti and so he showed me the games. When I was younger, I was immediately struck by Zanetti and Maicon.”

Finally, D’Ambrosio was excited for the season ahead.

“I’m curious to see where this Inter can go, we have a coach with good ideas, and we want to put everything into practice.”
