Former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi spoke to Italian media outlet Sky Sports following the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 victory over Udinese last night.

“Antonio [Conte] is one of the best coaches in the world, I respect him very much, he was also a player of mine, we are friends. He must have even more confidence in his quality.”

“He’s a great man, so he can’t always keep one or two more players in defence than the opposing attackers, it means having one or two less ahead. It’s the usual flaw in Italian football.”

Sacchi coached Conte in the Italian national team, with the Inter coach being part of the squad that reached the 1994 World Cup final.

Conte’s Inter have gotten off to a perfect start this season with three wins in three games, that sees the Nerazzurri top of the league table after rivals Juventus dropped points away to Fiorentina in a 0-0 draw.
