Former Inter defender Daniele Adani spoke to Italian media outlet Sky Sports yesterday after the Nerazzuri’s victory over Udinese.

“There is so much desire to get something and this makes you dream. Juventus has the obligation to win for what they have done so far but they must also be able to risk losing something immediately to try to do well in March at European level and these ups and downs push in that direction, in this game of swings Inter can remain strong.”

“If I were in Inter, however, I would go slowly to climb, I would wait for the first stop in October to make a small assessment. There will be hard games in the Champions League, it’s a long job, but in San Siro there’s an enthusiasm that doesn’t stop.”

Adani then spoke about coach Antonio Conte’s decision to start Matteo Politano over new arrival Alexis Sanchez.

“Matteo was among the best, behind the striker as he did at Sassuolo and he’s a solution that must be taken into account, he played the role well. But we must emphasize Godin’s debut at San Siro. The performance was not positive but do not evaluate him in a tough game in which he must do little defensive work and must break away to play. But for me Godin at San Siro before the Champions League week means something.”

Finally, the former Inter defender spoke about which players must be the most decisive at Inter.

“Sanchez, Lautaro, Sensi. Lazaro is to be seen. Candreva is unlikely to give him the job. Inter believes in an idea and for Conte you must throw yourself into the fire, it’s credible and convinces you but it’s not enough. Lazio on the pitch are ahead of Inter. Roma are also strong, with Napoli and Juventus are ahead of them.”
