The estimated demolition time of the San Siro is 235 days according to Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera, with the Italian paper detailing how the process is set to be handled by Inter and AC Milan’s chosen project.
The report explains that to begin, the first ring will be knocked down, then the second and third rings, before demolishing the towers and finally the roof.
Initially there will be the removal of non-structural parts, such as the technology, the doors, furniture and partitions, before commencing with the next phase in the demolition process.
Following that, the report details how the next demolition phase will start with the removal of the second ring, with the third ring following suit.
Next, the removal of the 11 secondary towers, to be carried out by long arm excavators, before the main 4 towers are lowered to the ground via a hydraulic system, then to be cut up by excavators.
Finally, the demolition will end with the removal of the foundations, to be carried out via special machinery.
