AC Milan chief football officer Zvonimir Boban believes that the Rossoneri are heading into this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina as slight underdogs to city rivals Inter.

“We are just at the beginning of this process. Inter are a bit more favoured than us for the match, even if the derby is always an open match. You have to manage your emotions ahead of the derby, I personally paid the price for not doing so when I played,” he said on the sidelines of Paolo Condo’s book presentation earlier this evening.

“It takes a bit of time. Sometimes after two training sessions you feel that you are in tune with certain players. Inter use the 3-5-2 which is an easier system than playing with 4 in the back.”

In conclusion, he was asked whether or not some of Milan’s Summer signings who have yet to feature will play a part.

“New players in the derby? The manager is Marco Giampaolo, you have to ask him.”
