Former Arezzo sporting director Roberto Goretti has shared his views on Inter manager Antonio Conte’s comments regarding Maurizio Sarri.

Following Inter’s victory over Udinese, Conte hit out at Juventus boss Sarri who had complained about fixture scheduling being behind the Bianconeri’s failure to beat Fiorentina.

“Antonio wanted to put pressure on an upcoming opponent. He wanted to put himself in an advantageous position.  The difference between the two in my opinion is that Conte enters a players heart, Sarri enters the players head,” Goretti, who was at Arezzo during Conte and Sarri’s respective spells in charge, said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Antonio was in his first managerial gig with us and told us that in the next five years he would be in charge of Juventus. The rest is history.

“They both have strong and important personalities, you could see that at Arezzo, even though they were clearly not the coaches that they are today. You were immediately struck by Conte’s ferocity and determination whilst with Sarri it was his obsessive search for perfection, especially in the defensive phase.”
