Romelu Lukaku followed a personalised training schedule yesterday and his condition will be evaluated today ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League opener against Slavia Prague according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Should the Belgian striker’s condition be considered fine, he will start the match tomorrow against the Czech giants and will be partnered by Lautaro Martinez, who is set to be granted his first start in the Champions League.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that Valentino Lazaro and Cristiano Biraghi could well be granted their first appearances for the club since their arrivals over the Summer. The Austrian and Italian will take the places of Antonio Candreva and Kwadwo Asamoah respectively.
Having been benched on Saturday for the 1-0 win over Udinese, Matias Vecino will come back into the side with Nicolo Barella dropping back to the bench after failing to impress in his first start for the club.
