Former Inter defender Francesco Colonnese has praised Inter boss Antonio Conte for taking responsibility for Inter’s performance in their 1-1 draw with Slavia Prague last night in the Champions League group stage opener.
“Inter have had a setback but it is better to have happened now than later. It is nothing too serious. Antonio Conte honestly assumed responsibility immediately. He did not go looking for alibis and he knows that there is a problem existing which he wants to solve immediately,” Colonnese explained in an interview with Tutto Mercato Web Radio.
“Inter have made changes, they have invested in an important coach. The players have already shown a desire to follow him. It will take time and they will improve.
“We are convinced that we are better than others but we are not. Yesterday’s match proves it. I must congratulate the Slavia Prague manager for how he set his team up.”
