Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Nicolo Barella will now be able to perform to the best of ability having scoring last night in the Champions League.

The Italian international midfielder has taken some time to settle since his arrival at the club from Cagliari during the Summer transfer window and the Milan based news outlet state: “In his Champions League debut, in a stadium that is boiling between disappointment, hope and anger, he struck a volley, which bounced twice in the box before going into the net.

“His goal helped the team and coach avoid the worst result on what was a bad night. Having scored, Barella can now finally show everything that made Antonio Conte and Inter fall in love with him.”

The 22-year-old midfielder is widely regarded as one of the top Italian prospects out there at the moment and has made four appearances across all competitions since his arrival at the Nerazzurri.
