Respected Italian journalist Paolo Condo has shared his hopes to see an Italian side go all the way in this year’s Champions League after the tournament began on Tuesday night.
“I hope that an Italian team can win the Champions League this year, because in 2020 it will be ten years since the last victory of an Italian side in Inter,” Condo said in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport 24.
He then spoke on Antonio Conte and the role he will play in Inter’s potential future successes.
“It is important that Antonio Conte remains at Inter for the years necessary in order to grow this team,”
He then discussed the comparisons that have been made between Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi and former Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
“The purists are horrified by the comparisons but Sensi has done well at Inter and this has allowed Conte to change things up tactically.”
