Three games in the league, 3 wins and it seemed like a dawn of an era where Inter would move from their norm which has always been Pazza.

This was more like the Inter of the past where the Nerazzurri struggle against the theoretically weakest team in the group. It was a frustrating night for the Nerazzurri faithful and leaves our European hopes hanging by a thread after just one game.

Samir Handanovic – 5.5: Under a lot of pressure with the ball in the first half and it showed on him. No miracle saves to make all night, could not do much on the goal as well.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6.5: The pace of the forwards troubled him. He settled defensively and adjusted to that, should have scored with that header. Positive performance.

Stefan de Vrij – 6: Left alone to run in the first half, created a couple of chances and wasted his free header. For some reason he looked tired in the second. Troubled.

Milan Skriniar – 6: Stable as always, maybe his passing isn’t at its best. Chanelled his anger very well towards the end with some forward runs and personality.

Antonio Candreva – 5.5: Looked a bit off the pace but put in a defensive shift. Too safe in the first half with his passing and movement and unfortunate to be injured so early.

Roberto Gagliardini – 5.5: Just like his team mates, started slowly and didn’t look much involved. Slowly grew into the game and then grew out of it. His physicality was missed.

Marcelo Brozovic – 5: Had no space to move about in the center circle, when he got the ball there was nobody to pass it to. Rightfully subbed off as it wasn’t his night at all.

Stefano Sensi – 6.5: As always the fountain of creativity for the players around him. Did well even in the first half. Deserved a goal again but hit the cross bar. Brilliant.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 5.5: For once he focused a lot on the attacking play without any reward. Stupid mistake to get a yellow but then there was very little defending left to do.

Romelu Lukaku – 5: Lost almost every aerial battle in the first half which would not have pleased Conte at all. Won a few in the second half and maybe should have scored.

Lautaro Martinez – 4.5: Bullied physically and very rarely got the ball in space to run or shoot. Messed up an easy chance by his standards and never got hold of the game.

Valentino Lazaro – 5.5: Not the easiest of games to come on in. You could see why Conte says he’s not ready defensively. He has some blistering pace and spark. Needs time.

Nicolo Barella – 6.5: What a way to make your Champions League bow. He said he wanted to score more and he showed it. Fought for each ball and won some 50-50’s.

Matteo Politano – 6.5: Made a brilliant impact off the bench. Looked much better than against Udinese and his pace was certainly a factor that got Inter a point. Should start.

Antonio Conte – 5: Conte was irked by the press when they talked about his European record. This game will not help changing that. Needs to sort the attacking bit out.

Ruddy Buquet – 6: Strange decisions on some throw ins. Soft free kicks given to both sides, however used VAR correctly but wasted a lot of time to get it right.

Inter – 4: Considering the next game is at Camp Nou, this game might prove to be the reason Inter don’t make it past this stage. Stranger things have happened.

Agree? Disagree? Who do you think was Inter’s best player of the night?
