Inter’s 1-1 draw with Slavia Prague in the Champions League was a match without any big problems for referee Ruddy Buquet but VAR usage during the match at San Siro had one obvious mistake, a report from Corriere dello Sport explains.

“As it happens, often in Italy, the problem with the technology is not the technology itself but how it is used. Kwadwo Asamoah’s tackle on Ibrahim Traore was hard but Francois Letexier, who was in charge of VAR, was out of place and the tackle could never have been a red,” the report from the Rome based news outlet details.

The report also moved to confirm that there were no problems whatsoever with Peter Olayinka’s goal for the visitors.

“As for Peter Olayinka’s goal, at the time of Jaroslav Zeleny’s shot, which was saved by Samir Handanovic, Marcelo Brozovic was keeping him onside.”
