Walter Zenga has insisted that Inter should not let their disappointing performance against Slavia Prague ruin all that has went well for the club recently.

The Nerazzurri scraped a draw against the Czech champions in the Champions League group stage on Tuesday night having not performed all that well.

“As Antonio Conte said the performance was not what everyone expected, but it is not a result that should take away from all the good that has been done so far. When you start a new project it takes time. Inter has all the potential to play for the Scudetto,” he told Tutto Mercato Web radio.

Next, Zenga shared his views on some of Inter’s Summer transfer window acquisitions.

“Inter brought in Stefano Sensi, Cristiano Biraghi, Nicolo Barella, who are all young Italian players with a lot of quality. Romelu Lukaku then came in too and it is normal that a coach wants to bring in players that he trusts.”

He then spoke on the two managers of both AC Milan and Inter ahead of tomorrow night’s derby at San Siro.

Both clubs have changed coach and philosophy. Giampaolo knows it, I respect it. He had the courage to go down to Serie C to get back in the game: he needs time. On the Inter side, however, there is one of the best coaches in the world, who categorically rejects the idea of defeat: it will be a nice derby.”
