Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic spoke to Italian media outlet InterTV following the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 victory over AC Milan tonight.

“I don’t mind if tomorrow I see “no rating” in the newspapers for my performance because my teammates were good. We had a great game and the win was well deserved. Am I a point of reference for my team-mates? Yes, it’s possible: I have to be an example. I’ve been here for many years; I have to take responsibility for making newcomers understand what Inter is.”

Regarding the new system, the Inter captain was positive.

“We have two attackers that can hold up the ball, so there’s an extra solution, which corresponds to the long throw. The opponent, therefore, doesn’t know whether to stay together behind or come and expose himself. For the rest, we must try to start again by setting from behind.”

Finally, Handanovic spoke about the Nerazzurri’s disappointing game against Slavia Prague.

“I knew it would be difficult: they had played ten matches in their league, we had played three. But this is not to look for excuses.”

“Let’s say that for our growth it was a useful game, even if the result was not. Tuesday’s game was useful for today’s victory. We still have a long way to go.”
