After Inter’s 2-0 win over AC Milan in the Milanese derby last night, the two clubs are coming together to decide which project to pursue for their new stadium, according to Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
A date has already been decided by the clubs to reveal the two projects that are currently in contention for the construction of a new stadium, with architecture studios Populous and Manica-cmr competing for the job.
After meetings over the last few days and conversations with city of Milan mayor Giuseppe Sala, the two projects are set to be announced by the end of next week.
The Mayor still hasn’t reached a full agreement with Inter and Milan about the projects but is hoping to find common ground with the clubs soon.
Both Inter and Milan are keen to build a new stadium and demolish the historic San Siro, built in 1926, after complaints that the outdated stadium cannot be renovated any further to reach the new level of modern stadiums.
