Italian journalist Matteo Marani praised Inter’s performance in last night’s derby victory over AC Milan, with journalist writing in Turin based newspaper Tuttosport that coach Antonio Conte’s pre-season preparations with the Nerazzurri is paying dividends.
The report details how Conte’s Inter pressed Milan from the start of the match, with midfielders Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella controlling the tempo of the game from midfield.
The ferocity of the players on the bench was also seen after Conte substituted on Matteo Politano and Antonio Candreva in the second half, with both players looking fit and immediately getting stuck in.
Conte’s work on the training pitches before the season began was also highlighted, with the Italian coach paying special attention to the physical conditions of all his players.
The coach’s work with Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has also paid off so far, with summer signing Romelu Lukaku already scoring three goals in four league games.
However, the star acquisition in the summer so far seems to be midfielder Stefano Sensi, who has gotten off to a fly start to his Inter career, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the Nerazzurri’s first four league games of the season.
