Inter striker Romelu Lukaku spoke to Italian media outlet InterTV following the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 victory over AC Milan in the Milan derby last night.

“I’m very happy for the win. This game is very important to us. Today we played with the intensity and mentality of champions.”

The player discussed his decision to kiss the camera during his goal celebrations.

“When I arrived in the summer, I promised to send a message to my mother through the camera. I was very happy to have scored at that stage of the game.”

The 26-year-old forward spoke of the preparations made for this game.

“The staff prepared us very well. We know how good AC Milan are, but they didn’t do anything today, we controlled the game, we could have scored many more goals. We’ve made some progress since the Champions League game against Slavia.”

Lukaku also spoke of his current mental state.

“I’m feeling good in this moment. Conte, I really like him, because he does a good job not only for me, but for the whole team as well.”

Finally, the former Manchester United forward spoke of Inter’s next game against Lazio next week.

“The coach has many players at his disposal, we’re all physically OK. It’s better for me to be able to play two games a week, so they all pass very quickly.”
