Respected journalist Mario Sconcerti has shared his views on Antonio Conte’s Inter side who remain the only side with a perfect record in Serie A having now won each of their first four games.

“Inter has conceded only one goal and has, by far, the best defence in Italy, a defence which Diego Godin has entered into with ease. Inter’s midfielders can play the best passes and they know that losing the ball will mean having to immediately recover it. Rather than marking as a three, they directly man mark an opposition player,” he began his weekly column in Corriere della Sera.

“Danilo D’Ambrosio has become an almost indispensable player for tactical reasons. Inter is a team set up with such precise criteria for the roles. Inter is an archaic but exact mechanism. What counts is the relative relationship between the team, who sometimes play better football but are also capable of being completely random, just like Juventus are these days.”
