Ivan Zamorano has shared his delight at Inter’s positive start to the 2019/20 season and what Serie A side’s grand signings mean for the league.

“It seems to me that compared to two or three years ago, Inter is returning to their previous level. Many teams are investing in great players and this means great things for Serie A and Italian clubs in Europe,” he said in an interview with broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The Chilean, who spent five years with Inter and made 101 appearances in his time with the Nerazzurri, then spoke on some Italian talents who have caught his eye at Inter.

“There were no Italians up for the FIFA The Best award because Italy has not produced a fantastic talent for a long time but it seems to me that Italian clubs are starting to look more at young players.

“Inter are one of those clubs and have Stefano Sensi, who is playing great. Nicolo Barella is another player and in a little while I think there will be Italians up for the award.”
