Samir Handanovic will make his 300th appearance in an Inter jersey in tonight’s Serie A match at home to Lazio according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
Handanovic took over from Julio Cesar in the Summer of 2012 having arrived from Udinese and seven and a bit years on, the Slovenian will now match the Brazilian’s appearance total for the club.
Handanovic is under contract with Inter through to the end of next season although it is understood that Inter wish to prolong his contract by a further season.
The 35-year-old has been virtually ever present in all his time with the club but in the coming seasons, his role at the club could be set to change.
The report goes on to conclude that nearer to the end of his contract, he could act as mentor to Ionut Radu – who Inter management are very fond of and see as his heir.
