Inter goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic believes he and his teammates could have performed better in tonight’s narrow 1-0 victory over Lazio, which was in fact his 300th appearance for the Nerazzurri.

“We suffered against Lazio tonight, but in the second half we had to see it out because these matches against opponents like Lazio must be seen out,” he remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport post-match at San Siro.

“We were lacking something in some areas but we were not punished for it. We must remember these things and must not think that we did well. Serie A is very balanced and we have to make sure we stay on track. It is important that we picked up the three points tonight.”

In conclusion he was asked about the possibility of winning silverware this season: “I miss it, it is my goal [to win silverware with Inter].”
