Marco Materazzi has commended the Inter defenders for being near impenetrable at the back at this early stage of the 2019/20 season.

“In the derby, Inter’s strength and intelligence made the difference. The three man defence? When in four league games you only concede one goal, it means that they are on the right path. Inter manager Conte knows this particular defensive set-up very well and the team was built in a certain way,” he remarked in an interview with Inter’s in-house channel Inter TV.

He then shared his views on Inter’s match tonight against Lazio and the effect playing at home will have on Inter.

“Lazio is one of the teams that plays best in Italy, but let’s remember that the match will be getting played at the San Siro: for the past 4-5 years for Inter, playing at the Giuseppe Meazza has always been like an extra man to them.”
