Mauro Icardi is set to be sidelined for around the next 10 days having sustained an injury to his groin according to a report from French website paristeam.fr.

The 26-year-old Argentine missed Paris Saint Germain’s recent victory over Lyon and will now miss tonight’s Ligue 1 encounter at home to Stade Reims and this weekend’s match away to Bordeaux at least. All going well, he will be back in training next week.

Icardi joined the French powerhouses on deadline day of the Summer transfer window on a season long loan from Inter. PSG have an option to turn the former Barcelona youth player’s stay in the French capital into a permanent one for a reported sum of €65 million next Summer.

Since his arrival at the Parc des Princes, Icardi has made two appearances and made his first start for the club in their 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League this time last week.
