Former Inter attacker Ruben Sosa has been left very impressed by Inter’s early season form and believes that with time, Antonio Conte’s side will get even better.

“Inter made a team to win the Scudetto. They brought in a great coach and brought in great players too. They are doing well despite not playing very well. In a month’s time they will be better, they will know each other better by then and will be stronger,” he began an interview with PassioneInter.com.

“I think Conte is a coach who is still trying to get his ideas across. He is very intelligent, he wanted a strong Inter. It is obvious that the first matches will change a bit between the league and the cups, but he will soon find the right set-up. He has coached many teams and will do well. Inter is a team that must always do good. They must win all their games.

“I think Conte arrived at Inter because he thinks they can challenge Juventus and Napoli. People who are only aiming for the Champions League can’t come to Inter.”

Sosa then spoke on his Uruguayan compatriot Diego Godin, who joined Inter in the Summer from Atletico Madrid.

“You’re talking about the captain of a national team, not any regular footballer. He is a leader and thinks only about the team. He is a professional and he talks a lot to his other defenders. He is able to assist and is not scared to go up and try to score goals either.”

He was then asked about Inter replace Mauro Icardi with Romelu Lukaku and who he thinks is better between Lautaro Martinez or Alexis Sanchez to partner him.

“I think Lukaku is a great striker who must always be close to the penalty box. He is mentally strong of head and he deserved the goal he scored in the derby. I am happy for him, because winning a derby is very important.”

“I like Sanchez better, but they are both good players. He’s more technical, has a good shot and is more of a second striker. I believe the coach has a bench in which everyone is capable of also being a starter.”

He concluded the interview by sharing his views on San Siro, which looks set to be demolished in the coming years to make way for a new stadium.

“I am very sorry about this situation. When I went to see Inter at San Siro, they told me they wanted to tear it down and I told them not to as its one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world. No stadium will ever be able to replace it.”
