Antonio Cassano is confident that Inter can have a good season so long as everything goes to plan after the Nerazzurri returned to the top of the table having beaten Lazio on Wednesday night.

“Lazio deserved to win Wednesday’s match in my opinion but if all turns out well, then it could be a great year for Inter,” he said in an interview with Sport Mediaset show Tiki Taka.

He then shared his views on Inter striker Romelu Lukaku, who has got life in Nerazzurri off to a fine start with three goals in his first five league outings.

“Lukaku seems willing to go war for Inter. He runs and runs, helps the team out and is ready to do anything for his teammates. Under Antonio Conte, every player gives their absolute maximum.”

Cassano, who spent the 2012/13 season with Inter, then spoke on Inter’s defence, who have allowed just one goal in the league so far.

“With three defenders in Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij and Diego Godin, the opposition will have a hard time scoring against Inter. Skriniar has great personality, is young and under Conte’s guidance he can still improve.”
