Samir Handanovic has shared his thoughts and feelings following Inter’s 1-0 victory over Lazio at San Siro on Wednesday night.
“It was a tough game as Lazio is a great team. We suffered a bit in the first half but then in the second half we went out and we took control of the match. We had so many opportunities to score more,” he said in an interview with Inter TV.
“It was a painful victory. The remainder of the season will not be easy: when you suffer, you must try to get out alive and try to hit your opponents as soon as you can breathe again.”
“Everyone deserves credit for the clean sheet. In Italy, the team who concedes the least goals is the winner in the end.”
The Slovenian celebrated his 35th birthday over the Summer but admits he still thinks he has a few years left in him yet.
“Every year I feel better. I do not set limits for myself. So long as a player thinks they can still improve, they have to keep playing. Everyone can improve. When I no longer have the stimulus to do that, I will retire.”
