Inter chief executive Alessandro Antonello has confirmed that both Inter and AC Milan are fully committed to building a new stadium and do not have any back-up plan in place.

“San Siro is San Siro, the idea of the two clubs is the one we proposed today. The two projects for a new San Siro must look to the new generations and to the city, which has innovation in its DNA. The club’s intention is to present the two projects for the future,” he told reports on the sidelines of the official presentation.

“Today we underlined the critical issues related to restructuring San Siro that in the end would distort San Siro and therefore that is why we do not think that is the best option. There is no plan B to the two projects and this is because we believe in the projects.”

He then commented on the success that the team are going through on the pitch at the moment.

“Inter’s present moment is part of the strategy that began with Suning three years ago, which today is bearing fruit both on and off the field. Conte’s arrival has changed things from a sporting point of view.”
