In an interview with Inter TV, Inter manager Antonio Conte has reflected on his side’s 1-0 victory over Lazio which has put Inter back on the top of the Serie A table.

“In the first half we attacked our opponents high up the pitch whilst they hit us on the counter and put us in some difficulty. After the goal, we dropped off a little too much and we were not as good defensively. Samir Handanovic saved us. Every match we face is tough and we have to be ready, as we were for this match, to do our best.

“I am happy because we have won the game against a very strong team, who have consolidated themselves over the years by keeping their best players and always adding new players in the team. These are tricky games which make your self-esteem grow.

“This is a team that knows how to suffer and in suffering, they can find the solution to the problem. We deserved it the victory and the performance gives me hope.”

He concluded: “We must not let ourselves be overcome by these five victories. Other teams are ahead in terms of knowledge and working with the same coach for many years. We have replaced many important players and signed other ones. Other teams have kept their sides together. We will have to suffer along the way but the fans must know that this is a group of boys ready to give everything for Inter.”
