Inter are looking to extend the contract of goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic by a further season according to a report from Tuttosport.
The Slovenian shot-stopper is currently under contract with the club until the end of next season but Inter wish to prolong his stay at the club until 2022.
Despite getting on a bit now, having turned 35-years-old in the Summer, his performance levels have not dropped and he made his 300th appearance in an Inter shirt in last night’s 1-0 win over Lazio, in which he made several key saves that ensured Inter maintained their perfect start to the season.
The report goes on to state that Inter management wish to keep Handanovic as the club’s number one next season and then have him mentor young Romanian goalkeeper Ionut Radu, with Inter management confident that he has what it takes to succeed Handanovic in between the sticks for the Nerazzurri.
