Respected Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has been left impressed by Inter’s continued progress off the back of their fifth straight win to start the season last night as they beat Lazio 1-0.

“Inter has become a very serious thing. There were a few moments in which destiny saved them against Lazio but they also had long periods during the match in which they controlled it effortlessly,” he wrote in Corriere della Sera.

“They have less quality than Juventus but more conviction and more humility. They are a great team where everyone helps each other out, starting with the two strikers and then the defence, who do not give up an inch.”

He concluded by heaping praise upon Danilo D’Ambrosio, who was surprisingly the scorer of Inter’s goal.

“It seems to me that Conte has invented a free flowing side. D’Ambrosio for example is supported and is able to get himself into the opposition box. D’Ambrosio is a decisive player and I would say that he is the symbol of Conte’s Inter.”
