Massimo Roj, the chief executive of Cmr, one of the companies vying to win the race to build Inter and AC Milan’s new stadium has revealed some more details of their plan in addition to those released yesterday at the official presentation.

“The rings symbolise the union between the two clubs, Inter and AC Milan. We tried to link the project to the city of Milan. We want to keep the San Siro pitch and the gates in its current position, a shopping centre will rise above it,” he explained in an interview with Radio Sportiva.

“We predict that the capacity of our stadium could increase from 60,000 up to 63-65,000 which would mean the stadium could host UEFA competition finals. The fans will be very close to the pitch.

“We will have more than 3000 trees that will become the green lung of the neighbourhood, an urban regeneration that will allow the area to be always accessible.”
