Francesco Toldo has shared his delight at the increased level of competition seen at this early stage of the Serie A season and how Inter have improved.

“It was too monotonous before and it is pleasant now that things have levelled out and because of this, it is even more fun,” he said in an interview with Tutto Mercato Web.

“Inter have made a great deal of improvement and there is a lot of desire from the club’s owners but it is still early in the season just yet. I think there is a good synergy between the fans, the team and the management. It is a nice mix.”

Toldo, who spent 10 years on Inter’s books between 2001-2011, then spoke on Inter’s current number one and club captain, Samir Handanovic.

“He is one of the best ever, I have always said this. With a strong defence in front of him he is proving this by making many great saves. Between his obvious talent and ability, he also has a lot of humility, which is his main gift.”
