Corriere dello Sport have praised Inter for their mercato masterclass when it comes to putting together their water tight defence.

Inter have the best defensive record in all of Europe’s top five leagues having allowed just one goal past them in five league games and the world class defensive trio of Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar and Diego Godin have played a huge role in that success.

The trio were signed for a total of just €34 million. That sum was spent entirely on Slovakian international Skriniar, between the initial €15 million plus Gianluca Caprari deal and bonuses, whilst both de Vrij and Godin arrived on free transfers after their deals with Lazio and Atletico Madrid expired.

The Rome based news outlet then go on to stress just how good Inter have been to achieve this. Juventus spent €85.5 million alone on Matthijs de Ligt, Napoli spent €36 million on Kostas Manolas and city rivals AC Milan spent €35 million on Mattia Caldara.
