Luis Miguel Rodriguez has recalled his short-lived experience in Inter’s academy and whether or not he would do it again if the clocks turned back.
“As soon as I moved into Inter’s academy, they gave me two bags full of clothes, with several pairs of boots. Everything was incredible, as if it were another world,” he remarked in an interview with Enganche.
“It was a very nice story, it was a unique experience, in a unique place. It is a special memory of my career. I could not play to the level of some of the players at the club at the time though.
“If I were a boy and had that opportunity again, I wouldn’t hesitate to do what I did again. It allowed me to get to know Europe and be inside one of the most important clubs in the world.”
The 34-year-old, who now plays for Argentine Primera Division side Colon, then revealed an anecdote about Javier Zanetti.
“When I was at Inter, he and his wife Paula treated me like I was family. He gave me one of his Inter shirts that he had at home.”
