Corriere dello Sport have praised Inter goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic for the impact he has had on the team both on and off the field.

“Since the start of this year he has been captain of the team, with a band that has also concretely certified his role as a critical conscience of the group. So many times, in his years with the club, he has been the one to put a brave face on after a disappointing result and many times he was also the one who tried to keep everyone with their feet on the ground to avoid getting caught up too easily by enthusiasm,” the report begins.

His teammates were the first to make their mark on the new look side, particularly new recruits Romelu Lukaku, Stefano Sensi and Diego Godin but now he has had made his mark with his performance against Lazio which, as Corriere dello Sport state “demonstrates that now, Inter is first and foremost a team.”
