Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni, who made his Inter debut today, spoke to Inter TV following the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 win over Sampdoria.

“Very emotional [day today], I have been waiting for this day. Happy for my own as well as the team’s performance, it’s important to win after Juve also won today.”

The 20-year-old then spoke about his thoughts on how he’s fitted in with his teammates and how he felt before making his debut.

“The group immediately welcomed me, as if I were their son. Above all Godin, whom I sometimes ask if he realizes that he only talks with me. I’m really happy. Yes [I slept well last night], fortunately the things that keep you awake at night are different. I play football and I enjoy it calmly.”

Inter have returned to the top of the league table after a perfect start to the season, winning their first six games in a row. Rivals Juventus are currently in second place, two points behind Inter after dropping points to Fiorentina earlier this month.
