Inter coach Antonio Conte is already looking ahead to next weekend’s Derby d’Italia against Juventus, according to Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, despite the two games in front of the Nerazzurri.
Conte is already set to make a number of changes against Sampdoria today in order to rest key players, such as Romelu Lukaku and Diego Godin, ahead of next week’s Champions League game against Barcelona in the Camp Nou.
Defeat against the Blaugrana, whilst damaging for Inter’s hopes in Europe, may encourage the Nerazzurri to focus all their efforts on the league, an approach Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri cannot afford due to the Bianconeri’s desperation to win the Champions League.
Next weekend’s derby is set to the one of the most important in recent years, with Inter currently top of the league table after a perfect start, whereas Juventus’ frustrating draw against Fiorentina earlier this month sees them two points behind the Nerazzurri.
