Inter have already hit the woodwork five times so far this season, putting them third in Serie A behind Hellas Verona and Lazio, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ivan Juric and Simone Inzaghi’s sides have done so on six occasions in the opening five rounds, with Antonio Conte’s men then tied alongside Paulo Fonseca’s Roma, who struck the post twice against Lazio in the Rome derby at the start of September.

Cagliari, SPAL and Udinese are the only sides not to have hit either the bar or post once this season.

At Inter, the unluckiest player is 26-year-old Italian forward Matteo Politano, who has been denied twice so far in his five appearances this season.

Inter’s shots will have to remain on target tonight as they face Sampdoria in a key Serie A fixture. Conte’s side are top of the early league table after a perfect start, whereas Eusebio Di Francesco’s men are bottom after a disastrous start which has seen them pick up just three points from a possible 15.
