Inter coach Antonio Conte may rest striker Romelu Lukaku in today’s game against Sampdoria in order for the striker to be fully fit for next week’s Champions League game against Barcelona, according to Milano based newspaper la Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how Conte is likely to start former Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez, his first start in an Inter shirt, alongside on form Argentinian forward Lautaro Martinez.

In defence, 20-year-old Italian Alessandro Bastoni is likely to start ahead of former Atletico Madrid star Diego Godin, who is a crucial part of Conte’s defence and likely to be key against the Blaugrana, due to his knowledge of playing against the Spanish side.

Finally, Antonio Candreva is set to return in midfield, with Roberto Gagliardini possibly starting alongside him.

The entire management team is with the squad in Genoa today, with the exception of President Steven Zhang, due to his return to China, however he is set to be present for the Derby d’Italia against Juventus next weekend.
