Inter forward Alexis Sanchez impressed on his debut with a goal, but the player will unfortunately miss the Derby d’Italia against Juventus next week, according to Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 30-year-old Chilean had his first Nerazzurri start last night in Inter’s 3-1 victory over Sampdoria, with the former Manchester United forward looking fresh and electric from the start.

Sanchez was sent off early in the second half for a second yellow card, for simulation, a fact both Inter and Antonio Conte are furious about, although not entirely with the player. Sanchez went down softly in the penalty area, but immediately got up and made no appeal for a penalty. Despite this, the referee Calvarese produced a second yellow card and sent the player off.

Conte may hope to use the partnership of Sanchez and former Manchester United teammate Romelu Lukaku in the Champions League next week against Barcelona, but to see the duo in the league we’ll have to wait until Sanchez is available again.
