Inter’s Champions League opponents Barcelona appear tactically fragile, according to Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, with the Blaugrana struggling across the pitch.

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen was the club’s saviour against Getafe this weekend, with a variety of important saves and an assist.

The 22-year-old French winger Ousmane Dembélé will be injured for the midweek clash with a muscle problem, with star Lionel Messi also potentially unavailable for the Spanish side.

Ernesto Valverde’s squad seemingly has tactical problems up and down the pitch, with a fragile defence, a midfield that isn’t currently gelling and a disappointing attack, with Antoine Griezmann isolated and former Ajax star Frenkie de Jong contributing little.

This will give hope to Antonio Conte’s Inter, who disappointed in their Champions League opener this season, only achieving a 1-1 draw against Slavia Prague at home.

The Nerazzurri are in the group known as the ‘group of death’, which contains Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Slavia Prague. A victory against Barcelona this week is key if Conte’s plans for Europe are to get back on track.
